I am very pleased to report that the 2011 Nord Stern's Race For Courage
weekend was a huge success!
Last year we had a very successful race weekend ending up with $15,660 in
donations to Courage. I didn't know if we would be able to surpass that
monster number.
This year we have $17,507 in hand, with $835 checks to be collected, which
will bring the total to $18,342. That's a 17% increase to LY!
But wait, there's more... We still have 5 sets of amazing hockey tickets with
face values of $368 per set. 4 seats, row 3 on the blue line, 2 periods on
the Wild shooting goal. Games include Home Opener, New Years Eve, Season
Finale, Red Wings, and Black Hawks. If you are interested, contact me, they
are $368 per game, every penny of which goes to Courage. Otherwise they will
be offered in the September Courage Gala (Nord Stern gets the credit). A few
other items didn't make minimum bid and will also be offered in the Gala.
One other large donation may happen if some logistics come together. I will
give everyone an update, if it works out.
I would like to thank Ron, Dave, Ron, Susan, and Roy for setting up the tables
and helping us unload. Christie and Carrie for selling parade laps. The
Smiths for helping with the parade laps and end of auction. Bruce as our
auctioneer. Laurie, Phil, Susan, Aurea, and Cheryl for helping make checkout
go as quickly as possible. Roger for all his announcements and behind the
scenes help. I would like to give a special call out to Dave Roberts for the
donation of our marquee live auction item and for the spirited bidding it
brought.
Of course a huge thank you to all the sponsors, club members, donors and
bidders!
